Couturier Tarun Tahiliani Launches His Watch Collection
Ace Couturier Tarun Tahiliani launched his watch collection Monday in a collaboration with Timex Group in New Delhi, India. The collection is a very exclusive set of jeweled watched inspired by India woman according to Tahiliani who was launched the line under his own name.
‘The collection is very close to my heart as each timepiece contributes to the beauty and timelessness that is the quintessential Indian woman. Combining opulence with luxury, each timepiece is graceful and unique,’ Tahiliani said in a press statement.
According to Tahiliani he decided to work with with the Timex Group because of its status and technological superiority over its competition. His collection offers fourteen distinct high quality designs with two different sub brands.
VD Wadwha of Timex Group India said the watches will be a great addition to any female’s collection. “Timex is well-known in India for its sporty, fashionable watches and primarily perceived as a men’s brand, though a considerable contribution comes from the women segment. One of our key strategies going forward is to increase our brand connect with the women consumer and no one else understands the Indian woman better than Tarun.”

SEIKO Opens First Watch Shop in India
Global leader in Luxury watches and time pieces SEIKO opened its first watch shop which they are calling a boutique in Chennia India according to a press release. Speaking at a press conference this Tuesday Tetsuji Ishimaru, President of the India branch of SEIKO watches said impressive growth in premium watch sales in India has pushed SEIKO to start expanding its brick and mortar stores into India. SEIKO Watch India’s stocks are quite impressive as well – between April and September of this year the price of the stocks have grown eighty four percent in value.
The companies Vice President of Sales and Marketing in India, Niladri Mazumder said that the company plans on opening ten or more stores in the next two to three years across India. The company forsees itself as becoming one of the top three brands in the premium segment of watches sold in India within the next three years.
The Chennai Boutique was opened by SEIKO Watches India in partnership with Zimson Times Pvt. Ltd. Who operates twelve additional exclusive and multi brand showrooms in Chennai alone. Watches sold in the new store are available for between Rs. 5,000 and Rs.1,60 lakh.
