For those of you who have not heard of Joy Mclaren then join the queue - we don't all have SKY TV and even if we did then we wouldn't all watch Britains Next Model as shown on the Sky Living channel. Joy apparently only came third, but from some reason she has become the new face of Casio Baby G watches.
Typical of reality TV programs, the winners get all the glory for about a month or so and after all the fuss has died down its the also rans who seem to be able to carve out a more long term career, Eg Will Young, Diana vickers, Jade Goodie to mention just a few, and Joy Mclaren getting the Casio gig just strengthens this theory.
So why did Casio choose Joy Mclaren as the new face of Baby G Watches ?
Apparently they thought she was edgy - whatever that means ? and that her edginess shone through.
Only seems like a few months ago that I was writing that Pixie Lott was the new face of Casio Baby G watches, at least I knew who she was, at least she had hit records and was fast becoming an A list celeb which she undoubtedly is today... and not C lister who came third in a little know reality TV show on a channel half of us don't have !

Younger Generation Going for BIG Watches
According to "Watch It", the Canadian retailer, the younger generation of boys and girls are this season going for larger, bolder and brighter watch designs. This corresponds with recent trends which see younger people being more inclined to go for Casio or Timex digital watches which are bright in colour, large, bold and full of features.
Younger people are fast seeing watches as more than just a way of telling the time and are seeing them as more of a fashion accessory which makes a statement about their personality and showa their boldness.
Other brands of watches that are bang in line with this trend are LTD watches and Nixon watches.
LTD watches are bright, vivid and colourful and their watches are released in limited editions with each design only having a very small maufacturing run, sometimes as little as 100, while Nixon watches have many styles some with bright colours and modern even futuristic designs and trendy shapes that cater for the individuals taste. Both these brands of watches are having great success this season in the fashion market.

Watches
Welcome to my blog about watches.
I will be reviewing lots of websites that sell wrist watches mainly fashion watches and designer watches from mid range brands such as Casio, Timex, Sekonda, Black Dice, Bench, Nixon, DKNY and Nautica and will also be reviewing these brands here.
SO lets recap...this blog won't be about luxury watches, just affordable high street watches.
